Construction Operations Superintendent (Prime Contractor)

Build the facilities that power American manufacturing. As our Construction Operations Superintendent, you’ll orchestrate field operations for design-build projects—aligning people, materials, schedule, and safety so every milestone lands exactly where it should.

Why This Role Matters

We deliver complex manufacturing facilities throughout Ohio and across the U.S. Your leadership on site ensures safe execution, exceptional quality, and predictable outcomes for our clients. Industrial experience is preferred, and we welcome accomplished commercial superintendents ready to transition into industrial work.

Your Initial Mission

Lead a Mansfield, OH project from Sept. 2026 through Nov. 2027, reporting to a Senior Project Manager or Project Manager.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Run daily field operations with rigor: safety, quality, schedule, budget, and compliance.
  • Stand up the site office/trailer; post required permits, labor notices, safety rules, and EEOC information; provide sanitation and hydration resources.
  • Direct subcontractors and suppliers; verify installations align with drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain and update the schedule; anticipate obstacles and implement corrective strategies.
  • Order and track materials; schedule and pass inspections; maintain accurate field documentation.
  • Lead safety meetings, reinforce policies, and correct hazards immediately.
  • Build complete submittal logs; monitor A/E approvals; communicate potential schedule impacts.
  • Assist with change requests by assembling thorough pricing and narrative back-up.
  • Manage contract closeout and compile all required turnover documentation.
  • Distribute current contract documents (drawings/specs/general conditions), including accepted alternates and addenda, to all trade partners.
  • Plan and facilitate construction meetings; capture accurate minutes and distribute fast.
  • Attend owner/architect pre-bid, OAC, and closeout meetings; solicit proposals from trades and suppliers prior to bid.
  • Prepare professional project correspondence: schedule of values, schedules, RFIs, transmittals, submittals, and memos.
  • Submit permit applications; track reviews; coordinate fee requests with Accounting.
  • Use scheduling and document control platforms to manage performance across quality, schedule, cost, and safety.
  • Measure and report subcontractor quality and progress; communicate drawing/spec/schedule changes promptly.
  • Report productivity, costs, QC, document status, and pay application processing to management; escalate risks early.
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise the final punch list to achieve a complete turnover.
  • Maintain an orderly site and office; build strong relationships with owners, designers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 5 years of successful Prime Contractor leadership on projects exceeding 50,000 sq. ft.
  • Mastery of drawings/specifications and construction best practices.
  • Clear communicator and collaborator; adept at organizing, analyzing, and solving problems.
  • Detail focus with the ability to handle multiple priorities; high integrity and professionalism.
  • Effective presenter and negotiator; decisive, action-driven leader.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Willing and able to travel extensively and relocate when needed.
