Overview
We are looking for a Construction Planner & Scheduler for our Air Gapped Cloud (AGC) team. In this position you will support the development, management, and execution of construction schedules for mission-critical datacenter projects from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover.
This role operates as a site-embedded scheduling lead for assigned projects, partnering with General Contractors, trade partners, and Microsoft delivery teams to drive predictable, milestone-based execution. The Scheduler provides accurate schedule insights, field-validated progress tracking, and risk identification to support project leadership and ensure delivery commitments are met.
Working Conditions: This is primarily an onsite, field-based role with daily interaction with construction teams. It requires consistent site walks and coordination with contractors, and the ability to travel between project sites as needed.
Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Schedule Analysis & Reporting
- Perform basic CPM and variance analysis to identify trends, delays, and critical path impacts.
- Support development of schedule reports, including look-aheads, milestone tracking, and status summaries.
- Track schedule key performance indicators (KPIs) and contribute to reporting for project and site leadership.
- Assist in developing "what-if" scenarios under guidance of senior planners or project leads.
Contractor Schedule Review (Execution Support)
- Review contractor-submitted schedules for completeness, logic alignment, and compliance with requirements.
- Identify inconsistencies, missing scope, or sequencing conflicts and escalate as needed.
- Support validation of schedule impacts related to changes, delays, or field issues.
Risk Identification
- Proactively identify schedule risks, constraints, and coordination gaps at the project level.
- Escalate risks with supporting data and collaborate on mitigation strategies with project teams.
- Maintain awareness of dependencies across design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
Coordination & Communication
- Participate in schedule coordination meetings with General Contractors, subcontractors, and Microsoft stakeholders.
- Communicate schedule updates, risks, and issues clearly to project managers and field teams.
- Partner with Construction, Cost, and Engineering teams to maintain alignment across execution disciplines.
Scope & Impact
- Owns schedule execution and reporting for assigned projects or portions of a campus.
- Works under guidance of Planning Lead, Senior Scheduler, or Project Controls leadership.
- Contributes to schedule decisions but does not own enterprise-level schedule strategy.
- Focused on accuracy, execution consistency, and issue identification rather than full program ownership.
- Influence primarily at the project / site level, with growing impact across campus reporting.
