A growing construction organization in the San Jose metro area is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Procurement Agent / Purchasing Clerk to support purchasing operations and project cost management. This role is ideal for a procurement professional with construction industry experience who excels at vendor negotiations, material sourcing, and budget tracking. Working closely with project managers, finance teams, and field personnel, you will play a critical role in ensuring materials are procured efficiently, delivered on time, and aligned with project budgets. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact construction projects while gaining valuable long-term career experience.

Duties

• Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements with suppliers to secure cost-effective purchasing solutions
• Source and procure construction materials, equipment, and project-related suppliesDevelop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure quality products and reliable delivery schedules
• Analyze pricing trends and identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs and improve efficiencies
• Partner with project managers and finance teams to support budgeting and cost-control initiatives
• Monitor project expenditures and assist with reporting cost variances and procurement metrics
• Resolve purchase order, invoice, and vendor discrepancies in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, purchase orders, vendor information, and procurement activities

Requirements

• Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or construction materials management
• Knowledge of construction procurement processes, materials, and industry best practices
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build productive supplier relationships
• Experience performing cost analysis, budget tracking, and expense management
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
• Effective communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment
• Proficiency with purchasing systems, Microsoft Office, and data tracking tools
• Ability to work onsite in San Jose, CA
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
