Construction Project Executive

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Construction Project Executive to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale construction projects across multiple sites. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing project portfolios, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery, maintaining safety and quality standards, and aligning construction operations with organizational and client objectives.

The ideal candidate is a proven construction leader with extensive experience managing complex builds, multi-million-dollar projects, and cross-functional teams including contractors, engineers, architects, and field operations personnel.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Oversee multiple large-scale construction projects from planning through completion

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget

  • Provide executive oversight for project managers and site supervisors

  • Establish project execution strategies and delivery frameworks

  • Monitor project milestones, timelines, and overall portfolio performance

Budgeting, Cost Control & Financial Oversight

  • Develop and manage project budgets and cost estimates

  • Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures

  • Ensure accurate forecasting of project costs and financial risks

  • Approve major project expenses and change orders

  • Collaborate with finance teams to ensure financial accountability

Construction Operations & Execution

  • Oversee daily construction operations across multiple job sites

  • Ensure compliance with construction plans, specifications, and standards

  • Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, and vendors

  • Resolve operational issues and remove project execution roadblocks

  • Ensure efficient resource allocation across projects

Safety, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Enforce safety standards and OSHA compliance across all sites

  • Ensure adherence to building codes, regulations, and permitting requirements

  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies

  • Promote a strong safety-first culture across all construction teams

  • Oversee incident reporting and corrective action processes

Stakeholder & Client Management

  • Serve as primary executive liaison for clients, stakeholders, and partners

  • Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to executive leadership

  • Manage client expectations and ensure satisfaction with deliverables

  • Lead project review meetings and executive briefings

  • Maintain strong relationships with architects, engineers, and consultants

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams

  • Build and develop high-performing construction delivery teams

  • Conduct performance reviews and leadership development initiatives

  • Support recruitment and retention of key construction talent

  • Foster accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence

Planning, Scheduling & Coordination

  • Develop and oversee master project schedules and timelines

  • Coordinate project sequencing across multiple construction sites

  • Ensure alignment between design, procurement, and construction phases

  • Manage critical path activities and mitigate delays

  • Optimize workflow efficiency across projects

Quality Control & Assurance

  • Ensure all construction work meets quality standards and specifications

  • Conduct site inspections and quality audits

  • Oversee punch lists, project closeouts, and final inspections

  • Ensure adherence to architectural and engineering requirements

  • Implement continuous improvement in construction quality processes

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field

  • 10+ years of progressive construction experience

  • 5+ years in senior leadership roles (Project Executive, Senior Project Manager, Construction Director, or equivalent)

  • Proven experience managing large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Strong financial and project budgeting expertise

  • Must currently reside in one of the approved locations listed above

Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

  • Experience with multi-site or portfolio-level project management

  • LEED accreditation or sustainability-focused project experience

  • Familiarity with construction management software (Procore, Primavera P6, etc.)

  • Experience in healthcare, industrial, or large commercial construction projects

  • Strong background in contract negotiation and vendor management

  • PMP or CCM certification

  • Experience with design-build or EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) models

  • Background in infrastructure or public works projects
