Job description:

We are seeking an experienced, organized, and driven Construction Project Manager to join our growing team in Arcata, California.

Position Summary

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing commercial and multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through completion. This role requires exceptional organization, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining positive relationships with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal team members.

What You'll Do

  • Manage construction projects from planning through closeout.
  • Coordinate schedules, subcontractors, suppliers, and project milestones.
  • Communicate professionally with subcontractors, vendors, owners, architects, and consultants.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence.
  • Review contracts, drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Track project budgets, schedules, and progress.
  • Collaborate closely with Superintendents and field personnel to ensure successful execution.
  • Identify challenges early and develop practical solutions.
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation using Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Represent The Danco Group with professionalism and integrity.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience managing commercial or multifamily construction projects.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional and confident on the phone and in person.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to project management.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including:
  • Outlook
  • Excel
  • Word
  • Teams
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience reading construction plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling and budgeting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with multifamily, affordable housing, or commercial construction.
  • Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software.
