Project Manager - Commercial Construction Projects
Based in Indianapolis, IN, we are a top-rated company providing general contracting, construction management, and development services for commercial, multifamily, renovation, and urban redevelopment projects.
We're seeking a Construction Project Manager with experience leading commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in estimating, blueprint review, subcontractor management, and project financials, along with a stable work history demonstrating long-term commitment and successful project delivery.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final completion
- Prepare and review estimates, budgets, cost reports, change orders, and project forecasts
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, and construction documents to support project execution
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and field personnel throughout the project lifecycle
- Support bidding activities, scope reviews, procurement, and contract administration
- Monitor project schedules, milestones, quality standards, and job costs to ensure successful delivery
- Participate in constructability reviews, value engineering efforts, and project planning activities
- Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and problem resolution
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements, building codes, and project specifications
Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of Project Management experience with a commercial general contractor
- Experience managing commercial construction projects from start to finish
- Strong estimating and budgeting experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, and construction documents
- Experience coordinating drywall, interior finishes, subcontractors, and field activities
- Strong communication, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
