Hours: 20–31 hours per week. Hours will generally fall between 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM to align with construction schedules.
Reliable mode of transportation is required to travel to multiple job sites throughout Kansas City, KS.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The construction project manager is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of new residential construction projects, managing up to 30 homes simultaneously from pre-construction through completion. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to quality standards while coordinating closely with general contractors, city departments, and internal team members. Build Wyco also has three renovation projects nearing completion, and this position will oversee those projects as well.
THE WORK
Collect bids from third-party general contractors
Manage contracts
Conduct site visits
Review and approve budgets and invoices
Ensure permits and inspections
Coordinate site preparation
Solve site issues
Coordinate with city departments
Consult engineers
Ensure projects stay on time and budget
Manage vendor accounts
Maintain contractor relationships
Oversee up to 30 builds
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 5 years working in new home construction
Bachelors in Construction Management or related field
Comfort using excel or other construction project management software tools
Solid communication and conflict resolution skills
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS
Owns a truck
Existing positive relationships with contractors
Familiarity with green or high energy efficiency building practices
Familiarity with manufactured housing
Spanish Speaking Skills
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Understanding of residential new construction processes from site prep through final completion
Knowledge of construction sequencing and scheduling
Familiarity with reading plans, scopes of work, and specifications
Basic understanding of building codes, permitting, and inspections
Knowledge of construction materials and common building systems
Understanding of contractor management and subcontractor coordination
Budget tracking and cost management
Attention to detail and follow-through
Recordkeeping, contract generation, & file management
ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

40-60% of time will be spent in the community, regularly subject to environmental conditions such as cold, hot, humid, windy or wet conditions on uneven surfaces.
When not out in the community, work is primarily conducted in a typical office environment with temperature control and natural and artificial light.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to communicate effectively (verbally, in writing, by telephone/ video-conference) with internal/external vendors, Build Wyco team, and contractors
Ability to withstand occasional exposure to noise, exposure to dust, and working with commonly present environmental chemicals, fumes or fragrances.
Ability to navigate through active construction sites.
