Construction Project Manager Direct Hire $70K - $95K Lisle, IL 60532

Position Overview As a Construction Project Manager based in our Lisle, IL office, you will manage commercial construction projects from initial planning and estimating through construction completion and final punch list. This role is responsible for the day-to-day execution, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination of projects ranging from small capital improvements to large interior renovations and ground-up development.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Daily Project Management

  • Schedule, coordinate, and supervise general contractors and subcontractors based on defined project scopes.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between internal operations, contractors, architects, and vendors.

  • Monitor contractor performance and follow up to ensure work is completed per plans, schedule, and quality standards.

  • Communication & Coordination

  • Communicate regularly with tenants and clients regarding project schedules, progress updates, and completion timelines.

  • Conduct regular project update meetings with internal teams, contractors, and clients to ensure alignment and accountability.

  • Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Develop, manage, and track project-specific budgets.

  • Review monthly job cost reports, labor costs, and project cost projections.

  • Prepare and present budget-to-actual cost reports to senior management and ownership.

  • Technical & Documentation

  • Review site plans, construction drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate execution.

  • Maintain organized records for change orders, inspections, permits, and approvals.

  • Document project progress with photos and written updates.

  • Pre-Construction & Relationships

  • Assist with pre-construction estimating based on proposed project scope.

  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, architects, engineers, and vendors.

  • Participate in weekly project team meetings.

  • Other duties and projects assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferably minimum of 5 years of commercial real estate or project management experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage drawings, schedules, emails, and project documentation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of construction methods, building systems, and applicable building codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and site plans.
  • Team player and willingness to continuously learn and improve.

Preferred Skills

  • Project estimating experience.
  • Strong Excel skills for budgeting and cost tracking.
  • Experience with CAD or similar design software (preferred, not required).

General Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel between local properties and job sites as needed.
  • Ability to move through active construction sites, including climbing ladders and accessing multiple floors.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Must have reliable transportation for daily use.
  • This is an on-site role; remote work is not available.
