Title: Construction Project Manager (Local candidates only)

Key Project Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience managing construction projects in power generation, utilities, water/wastewater, industrial, or related heavy construction environments.
  • Proven ability to drive project execution, hold contractors and vendors accountable, and maintain schedule performance.

  • Experience managing project scope, budget, safety, and change orders in multi-contractor environments.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to support a large-scale mechanical construction project in Los Angeles, California. This role will serve as the primary field interface for contractors and vendors and will be responsible for driving project execution, maintaining schedule performance, resolving issues, and ensuring safe and successful delivery of the project. The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction leader who can mentor teams, hold contractors accountable, and effectively manage scope, budget, safety, and schedule throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, vendors, and field teams throughout project execution.
  • Drive construction activities to maintain project schedule, quality, safety, and cost objectives.
  • Hold contractors and vendors accountable for scope, productivity, schedule commitments, and deliverables.
  • Identify project risks, field issues, and execution challenges and lead teams toward timely resolution.
  • Mentor field personnel and provide leadership to project teams to promote safe and efficient execution.
  • Manage project scope, budget, change orders, and contractor performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, operations, and construction teams to support successful project execution.
  • Support planning and execution activities while maintaining a strong field presence and hands-on leadership approach.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of construction execution, contractor management, and project controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead field teams and drive projects to completion in complex construction environments.
  • Experience managing multiple contractors and resolving schedule, scope, and execution issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software is beneficial but not required.

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent construction management experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience leading construction projects with responsibility for contractor oversight, schedule execution, scope management, and issue resolution in power generation, CHP, utility, industrial, or related heavy construction environments.

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $70-$80.
