Overview

The Construction Project Manager will support the Aligned Solar Partners (ASP) strategy. ASP is one of Aligned's core investment strategies and it involves acquiring, financing, constructing, and operating distributed solar, community solar, and energy storage projects in the United States. Aligned currently manages a 90MW portfolio of assets through this strategy.

This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience delivering C&I or utility-scale solar projects, particularly those who have worked at Independent Power Producers (IPPs), Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) firms, or solar developers.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position is an exciting opportunity to support a growing solar infrastructure investment platform. The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating the successful execution of solar project construction from contract execution through handoff to asset management. Responsibilities include:

• Management of third-party EPC contractors from contract execution through substantial completion and handover to asset management. As part of that process, they will:

• Ensure compliance of renewable energy projects

• Ensure that deliverables are timely

• Track adherence to the budgets

• Review change orders

• Ensure the fulfillment of contracts

• Overseeing procurement logistics for modules, inverters, and other solar-specific equipment

• Involvement and support in EPC bidding process and contract negotiations

• Verification of invoices and submission of payments

• Support in procurement decisions and logistics management of modules and other equipment

• Support in placement of commercial debts and management of relationship with lender independent engineers

• Coordination with owner's engineer

• Coordination with utility for placed-in-service and witness test procedures

• Regular coordination with asset management during substantial completion to asset management hand-off

• Support in internal initiatives to build out project tracking and data document protocol

• Project status tracking on software platforms

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of work experience directly managing the construction of C&I or utility-scale solar PV projects
• Prior experience at a developer or EPC. Experience at an IPP preferred but not required.
• Experience in renewable energy procurement, construction management and engineering. Experience in asset management preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with the solar project lifecycle, including permitting, interconnection, procurement, and commissioning
• Bachelor's degree. A degree related field in a related field is a plus but not a requirement
• Fluency in standard project management and document management software
• Familiarity with project scheduling software such Microsoft Projects, Primavera, or similar platforms
• Experience with construction financing

Compensation

• Salary between $130,000 - $165,000 commensurate with experience and geographically dependent
• Eligibility for annual bonus and carried interest
• Benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)
