Construction Project Manager

We"re looking for a Construction Project Manager who thrives on leading complex commercial construction projects, building strong client relationships, and driving successful project outcomes from preconstruction through closeout.

In this role, you"ll oversee one or more commercial construction projects with a combined value of up to $50M, working alongside experienced superintendents, engineers, preconstruction professionals, and executive leadership. You"ll have the opportunity to influence project strategy, mentor team members, leverage modern construction technology, and play an important role in growing our project portfolio across North Carolina.

What You"ll Do

  • Lead the day-to-day management of one or more commercial construction projects from planning through completion.
  • Establish project goals, procedures, and execution strategies while serving as a primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, schedules, and quality standards to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with Project Engineers and Superintendents to track costs, profitability, production, and overall project performance.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules in P6, coordinating sequencing, logic, and durations with field leadership.
  • Manage subcontractor coordination, procurement activities, project documentation, and schedule updates.
  • Review and oversee submittals, shop drawings, product data, RFIs, and other critical project information.
  • Partner with the Preconstruction team on planning, estimating support, constructability reviews, site logistics, subcontractor bidding, and scope development.
  • Negotiate and manage change orders while maintaining strong cost control and financial accountability.
  • Support BIM coordination efforts and collaborate with the Virtual Construction Team to improve project execution.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, trade partners, colleagues, and community stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop project team members while helping attract and retain top talent.
  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What You"ll Bring

  • Experience managing commercial construction projects for a general contractor.
  • Proven ability to lead projects, coordinate teams, and deliver results in fast-paced construction environments.
  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling, construction sequencing, RFIs, submittals, change management, and cost control.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting costs, and tracking project financial performance.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with owners, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and a commitment to maintaining safe project sites.
  • Familiarity with construction technology and BIM coordination processes.

Work Environment

This position combines office and project-site responsibilities and currently supports projects located between North Charlotte and the Triangle region. Most Project Managers oversee one primary project, while more senior-level managers may lead multiple projects depending on size and complexity.

While the role is primarily focused in the Triangle area, opportunities may exist to support projects throughout North Carolina. Occasional overnight travel or extended commuting may be required based on project location.

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
