- Maintain clean, safe, professional job sites, including silt fencing, permit boxes, signage, marketing materials, and overall jobsite presentation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners from job start through homeowner orientation, providing clear communication and a professional customer experience.
- Conduct pre-construction meetings with customers and sales staff to transition each project from the sales and selections process into construction.
- Review plans, specifications, selections, estimates, schedules, and job details before construction begins.
- Coordinate trade contractors, vendors, inspections, materials, and just-in-time deliveries to avoid delays, dry runs, and unnecessary costs.
- Use the formal scheduling system to maintain accurate job schedules, proper sequencing, and timely completion of each home.
- Process purchase order approvals, variance purchase orders, work authorizations, and other job-related documentation accurately and on time.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve field problems, schedule conflicts, trade issues, material concerns, customer requests, and quality concerns with urgency and professionalism.
- Train and guide trade partners on Kent Homes' construction methods, quality standards, safety expectations, and field problem resolution.
- Communicate job status clearly with trades, production, customers, inspectors, and internal team members.
- Ensure safe work practices are followed on all jobs and support compliance with OSHA and Kent Homes safety standards.
- Attend and participate in production meetings, training sessions, trade meetings, and ongoing process improvement efforts.
- Support successful home completions, customer satisfaction, quality assurance, budget performance, and overall production goals.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of residential construction project management or superintendent experience preferred.
- Strong residential construction knowledge and the ability to manage construction resources, schedules, quality, and field problem resolution.
- Experience working with trade contractors, vendors, inspectors, homeowners, plans, schedules, scopes of work, purchase orders, and jobsite documentation.
- Excellent people skills with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and calmly with customers, inspectors, trades, and internal team members.
- Ability to handle conflict, clarify miscommunication, resolve misunderstandings, and keep projects moving forward.
- Strong organization, time management, follow-through, and attention to detail.
- A proactive, self-starting mindset with the ability to anticipate issues, take charge, and follow through until the job is complete.
- Patience, professionalism, dependability, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to follow established systems, procedures, quality standards, and company processes.
- Ability to read and review plans, drawings, schedules, scopes of work, and construction documents.
- Comfort using construction software, email, digital schedules, tablets, customer portals, shared files, and mobile communication tools.
- Valid North Carolina driver's license and a good driving record.
- Ability to work in the field, walk active job sites, lift construction materials when needed, use small hand and power tools, and access roofs or elevated areas of homes under construction when necessary.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends when project demands require.
- A professional appearance and the understanding that, as a field representative, you represent Kent Homes every day.
