Job Overview

The Project Manager II leads the delivery of geohazard mitigation and specialty construction projects from initiation through closeout. This position manages project execution, field coordination, and financial performance while maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal teams.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role requiring sound judgment, technical aptitude, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing field conditions. The Project Manager II ensures projects are completed efficiently, on schedule, and in alignment with GSI’s standards for quality and performance.

Essential Responsibilities 

  • Take full ownership of assigned projects, leading planning, execution, and financial performance from award through closeout.
  • Manage project risk, scope, and change proactively, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company objectives.
  • Direct field operations and resource planning in collaboration with operations, engineering, and procurement teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, resolving issues, and strengthening partnerships.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance, contract administration, and major material procurement to maintain schedule and cost targets.
  • Review and interpret project financials, forecasts, and progress reports to drive informed decision-making.
  • Lead project reviews and post-construction evaluations to capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil, or Geological Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in construction or geotechnical work.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams with minimal oversight.
  • Solid understanding of budgeting, scheduling, and contract management.
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills across departments and with clients.
  • PMP certification required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
