Dedicated to serving those who defend the US and warfighters, Nisga’a MOSTT offers Military Operations support and Specialized Tactical Training (MOSTT). Nisga’a MOSTT’s services include aviation and military training, cybersecurity, intelligence gathering and analysis, and simulation and exercise support, as well as aviation flight logistics support and unmanned aerial vehicle support.  

 

Summary:

The Construction Project Planning and Scheduling and Construction Project Execution Instructor will provide support for the Naval Construction Training Center located in Gulfport, MS. Instructor personnel are designated by the command for the Construction Planning and Estimating and CMCT Schools.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide knowledge and skills necessary to plan, estimate, schedule, and report on construction projects at existing Naval bases, advance bases and selected off base sites during peacetime and contingency operations in accordance with the Construction Estimating, NTRP 4-04.2.3 and Seabee Crew Leader Handbook.
  • Provide basic level III Construction management knowledge and skills necessary to perform as a crew leader on an NCF construction project, specifically duties related to planning and development of the project package, and tools for managing the day-to-day NCF construction activities.
  • Provide level II Construction Management knowledge and skills necessary to perform as a construction supervisor on one or more NCF construction projects, specifically the management and oversight duties related to project package, resource leveling, reporting, and interfacing with other agencies.
  • Provide instruction in concrete and masonry construction principles and techniques to include site layout, forming “D” reinforcement placement and finishing, construction using concrete masonry units (CMU) block, lay-out and estimating.
  • Provide in-depth instruction in Rough Carpentry framing principles and techniques that cover the following areas; floors, walls, roof frames and trusses.
  • Provide in-depth instruction in interior and exterior finishes that incorporate the following areas; drywall, doors and windows, painting, ceilings, exterior finishes, stairs, interior trim and roofing applications.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications:

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficiency with project management software, such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Strong understanding of construction project lifecycles, scheduling methodologies, and resource management.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and mentoring skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of construction inspector experience.
  • Shall have a broad knowledge and skill necessary to plan, estimate, schedule, and report on construction projects at existing Naval bases, advanced bases and selected off-base sites during peacetime and contingency operations in accordance with NTRP publications.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous teaching or mentoring experience is highly desirable.
