Construction Purchasing Coordinator - Plumbing Materials

Pay based on experience

Southwest Plumbing is a first-tier commercial plumbing subcontractor working directly for the top general contractors in Florida on large-scale new construction ( multi-family, hotel, and commercial projects).

Our purchasing department keeps our jobs supplied: the right material, at the right price, on site when the crews need it. We are expanding that team.

What We're Looking For:

We need someone who is organized, sharp, and reliable, and who can juggle a lot of moving pieces without dropping them. 

Purchasing here also includes some logistics (arranging deliveries, chasing rush orders, and talking to our people in the field every day).

Purchasing experience with a commercial plumbing company will put you to the top of the list, but it is not required.

Another big plus is if you're comfortable with technology. We are always improving our software and systems, and we want someone who picks up new tools quickly and helps make our processes better (not someone who fights the computer).

Your Role:

• Create and issue purchase orders for plumbing material, fixtures, and equipment
• Get quotes from suppliers, compare pricing, and help keep material costs in line
• Schedule and track deliveries to job sites; arrange rush deliveries when the field needs material now
• Communicate with foremen and PMs about what's needed, what's ordered, and what's arriving
• Track order status, follow up on backorders, and solve problems before they hit the job site
• Receive and check orders against POs; sort out shortages, damage, and returns with vendors
• Keep purchasing records clean and up to date in our software
• Help us improve: spot inefficiencies in the purchasing process and help roll out better tools and systems

Job Requirements:

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail (you keep track of many orders at once)
• Clear, professional communication on the phone; text, email
• Comfortable with software (spreadsheets, email, and the ability to learn new systems)
• A problem-solver's attitude: when a delivery goes sideways, you get on the phone and fix it
• Reliable and self-directed: takes ownership without needing to be micromanaged
• Able to work full-time from our Miami office

Nice to Have (Not Required):

• Purchasing, procurement, or logistics experience
• Knowledge of plumbing material or construction supply
• Experience with purchasing/ERP-type software or Airtable-type tools
• Bilingual English/Spanish
