Construction - QA/QC Program Engineer V

Location: Montgomery, Alabama (Onsite)

COMPENSATION: $98 - $108 HOURLY

Role Overview

Serve as an independent quality representative for connectivity installation projects. You will deliver end-to-end quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) for all connectivity infrastructure, including pathways, cabling, and network systems. This role ensures installations comply with specifications, applicable codes, and project contract documents, and drives issues to closure across multiple contractor stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Request, review, and work to the latest applicable project specifications.
• Perform monthly specification audits and escalate misalignments.
• Support Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment management.
• Conduct continuous, independent visual inspections and observations of ongoing connectivity work.
• Log every deficiency as an Issue in the designated quality management platform and track to resolution.
• Align with project leaders on the schedule of required QAQC inspections.
• Review and formally verify field closeout documentation before handover.
• Provide oversight and validation of Division 27 network audits.
• Coordinate, schedule, and present at weekly and monthly QAQC meetings.
• Issue a weekly QA/QC status report.

Required Qualifications

Experience: Minimum five (5) years of telecommunications experience, with documentation available for verification.

Technical Skills: Working knowledge of structured cabling, pathways, fiber and copper testing, and telecom specifications (Divisions 01, 07, 27). Demonstrated ability to read and inspect against specifications, submittals, and shop drawings. Experience with construction quality management platforms (Autodesk Construction Cloud preferred) for checklists, issues, and documentation. Clear written and verbal reporting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Data center or other mission-critical facility connectivity installation experience.
• Familiarity with network audit practices: device/circuit/quality audits, BERT thresholds, optics health, FEC and CRC error analysis.
• Fiber inspection and certification standards experience (e.g., IEC 61300-3-3); OTDR/OLTS certification.
• Experience acting as an owners independent representative on large construction programs.

• Fully executed and signed inspection checklists.
• Verified closeout documentation package.
• Validated network audits.
• Weekly QA/QC status reports and program metrics.
• Final Project QAQC Closeout Report.
