We are seeking an experienced Construction Quality Control Manager to lead quality assurance and control efforts across a diverse portfolio of public and institutional construction projects. In this role, you'll be the driving force behind quality management from project inception through closeout, ensuring every phase of construction meets contract requirements, industry standards, and regulatory compliance expectations.
Lead Quality Programs
- Develop, implement, and manage project-specific QA/QC programs.
- Ensure quality plans align with project requirements, safety standards, and contract documents.
- Provide leadership and oversight to QA/QC personnel and project teams.
- Establish processes that drive consistency, accountability, and project excellence.
Conduct Inspections & Ensure Compliance
- Perform ongoing inspections throughout all phases of construction.
- Verify materials, workmanship, and installation methods meet approved specifications.
- Identify deficiencies and oversee corrective actions to maintain compliance.
- Review drawings, specifications, utility locations, grades, elevations, and construction details.
- Coordinate and monitor material testing and special inspections.
- Maintain detailed daily, weekly, monthly, and project closeout documentation.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, document control, material samples, and change-related documentation.
- Ensure all design modifications and field changes are accurately documented.
- Track quality metrics and maintain records that support regulatory compliance.
- Work closely with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Support project teams in resolving construction issues and quality concerns.
- Foster a proactive culture focused on quality, communication, and continuous improvement.
Testing & Quality Verification
- Coordinate third-party testing and inspections.
- Analyze inspection findings and implement corrective measures when necessary.
- Verify that corrective actions are completed and documented before follow-on work proceeds.
- Ensure project deliverables meet all applicable quality standards before turnover.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of quality control, construction inspection, engineering, or related construction experience.
- Experience working on public-sector, educational, healthcare, or institutional construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, quality standards, and California building regulations.
- Ability to read, interpret, and review complex construction plans and specifications.
- Experience using construction management platforms such as Procore, Primavera, Newforma, or similar software.
- At least one year of experience supervising or inspecting engineering or construction work.
Candidates Must Possess One of the Following
- Current California Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect license.
- Current DSA Inspector Class 2 Certification (or higher).
- Current ICC, OSHPD, or HCAI Inspector Certification recognized in California.
- Construction Superintendent, Contractor, or similar professional with 10+ years of documented building construction experience, including projects governed by DSA, HCAI/OSHPD, or local building authorities.
