Foster Lake & Pond Management is seeking a motivated and hands-on Aquatics Construction & Repairs (CRS) Technician to join our growing team in North Carolina. This position plays a critical role in the installation, maintenance, repair, and restoration of ponds, lakes, stormwater systems, fountains, aeration systems, and other aquatic infrastructure.

What You'll Do

 

Aquatic Construction & Repair Projects

• Perform repairs and maintenance on ponds, lakes, stormwater facilities, fountains, aeration systems, and related infrastructure.

• Assist with construction, renovation, and restoration projects for aquatic environments.

• Install and maintain pumps, piping, drainage systems, and other aquatic equipment.

• Operate hand tools, power tools, pumps, chainsaws, and various construction equipment.

• Assist with erosion control, shoreline stabilization, excavation, and stormwater system repairs.

• Load, unload, transport, and stage materials and equipment safely.

Equipment Operation

• Operate skid steers, mini-excavators, trailers, and other equipment safely and efficiently.

• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.

• Ensure equipment and tools are properly cleaned, maintained, and stored.

Project Execution & Quality

• Complete projects according to company standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations.

• Maintain accurate documentation, job notes, and time tracking.

• Identify field issues and communicate solutions to supervisors.

• Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within scope.

Customer Service & Communication

• Professionally represent FLPM with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.

• Communicate project updates and site conditions effectively.

• Deliver exceptional customer service and build positive client relationships.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

• Participate in required safety meetings and training.

• Utilize proper PPE and maintain a safe work environment at all times.

• Adhere to environmental and regulatory requirements when performing work.

 

Qualifications

 

Required

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including wet and muddy environments.

• Ability to work on uneven terrain, steep slopes, and around water.

• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and positive attitude.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Basic computer and mobile device proficiency for timekeeping, communication, and documentation.

Preferred

• Experience in construction, excavation, landscaping, environmental services, stormwater maintenance, pond management, or related industries.

• Experience operating mini-excavators, skid steers, trailers, and other construction equipment.

• Familiarity with pumps, aeration systems, fountains, irrigation systems, or water management equipment.

• Experience towing and hauling trailers.

• OSHA, equipment operation, or construction-related certifications.

Work Environment

• Outdoor, field-based position with year-round work.

• Frequent travel throughout North Carolina and surrounding areas.

• Occasional overnight travel may be required.

• Exposure to varying weather conditions, water environments, construction sites, and rugged terrain.

Required Experience

Education & Experience

1. Required: High School Diploma or GED.

2. Preferred: Experience in landscaping, environmental management, stormwater maintenance, construction, pond or lake management, horticulture, or related field services.

3. Technical Aptitude: Ability and willingness to learn equipment operation, maintenance procedures, software systems, and aquatic/stormwater management practices.

Licensing & Certifications

1. Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

2. Required Certification: Must obtain the North Carolina Aquatic Pesticide Applicator License within the first year of employment.

3. Required Certification: Must obtain the North Carolina SCM Inspection and Maintenance Professional Certification within the first year of employment.
