Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Construction Safety Coordinator in Sacramento, CA to protect workers and trade partners across major commercial construction projects by owning daily field safety execution and driving measurable incident reduction.
Impact
- Maintain a consistent, visible safety presence on major active construction sites to identify and eliminate hazards before incidents occur.
- Reduce recordable incidents by embedding proactive hazard recognition into daily site operations.
- Ensure full compliance with federal OSHA 29 CFR 1926 standards and California-specific safety requirements.
- Build site-level safety accountability among crews, subcontractors, and project leadership.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily jobsite inspections, document findings, and drive corrective actions to closure on major construction scopes.
- Enforce site-specific safety plans and ensure all personnel follow established protocols.
- Deliver toolbox talks, new hire orientations, and ongoing safety training to field crews.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses using root-cause methodology and implement preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate OSHA recordkeeping, logs, and required regulatory documentation.
- Coordinate with project management to integrate safety requirements into construction sequencing.
- Perform physical site walkthroughs including climbing ladders, kneeling, and navigating active construction environments.
Requirements
Must-Haves
- 3 or more years of construction safety experience, or a degree in safety or a related field.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification required.
- Valid California driver's license with ability to travel between project sites.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently without daily supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-Haves
- OSHA 500, STS-C, or CHST certification.
- Prior experience on large-scale commercial or industrial
