Job Title: Construction Safety Manager 5
Location: San Jose , CA
Salary Range: $100/hr to $105/hr on W2
Introduction
The Project Safety Advisor (PSA) serves as the primary field safety resource for data center and hyperscale construction projects. This role requires a hands-on safety professional who can proactively identify hazards, influence contractor behavior, lead incident investigations, and drive a culture of safety excellence across multiple stakeholders including General Contractors, subcontractors, and lease partners.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 10 years progressive safety experience, preferably in construction environments
- Program-level safety leadership experience
- Expert-level incident investigations and systemic improvement capabilities
- Subject matter expert in electrical safety standards
- Hyperscale/data center construction safety leadership
- Conduct daily field observations and hazard identification on active construction sites (minimum 3 observations per day or site visit)
- Stop unsafe work immediately when conditions warrant, regardless of schedule or cost pressure
- Monitor high-risk activities including energized electrical work, LOTO, crane lifts, confined space entry, and commissioning phases
- Verify contractor compliance with safety requirements and tiered safety programs
- Lead and participate in incident investigations using established RCA methodologies
- Document findings, develop corrective actions, and track implementation to closure
- Collaborate with General Contractors and/or lease partners to align on safety expectations
- Executive-level communication and influence
- Prior work experience in the client's industry
- Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Revit or Bluebeam
- Familiarity with Client Tier 1 safety requirements
- Experience in phased turnover environments where construction overlaps with operations
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Conduct daily field observations and hazard identification on active construction sites (minimum 3 observations per day or site visit)
- Stop unsafe work immediately when conditions warrant, regardless of schedule or cost pressure
- Monitor high-risk activities including energized electrical work, LOTO, crane lifts, confined space entry, and commissioning phases

- Participate in weekly construction syncs, monthly lease partner meetings, and PSA safety meetings
- Conduct field audits focusing on quality of hazard identification, not just quantity
- Complete weekly safety reports with accurate and actionable content
