Position SummaryMMC is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to support construction projects and promote a culture of safety excellence. This role serves as a key resource to project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and site-specific safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and promote a proactive safety culture across the project site. Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments; recommend and track corrective actions. Support safety processes including pre-task planning, JSAs, permits, incident investigations, and corrective action management. Deliver new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and safety training. Monitor compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and project-specific safety requirements. Partner with project leadership, subcontractors, and field teams to improve safety performance. Maintain safety documentation, reports, and project safety metrics.
Qualifications
Experience supporting a General Contractor on large-scale construction projects, preferably data centers. Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 construction standards and high-risk activities such as fall protection, electrical safety, crane operations, and confined spaces. Excellent communication, leadership, and hazard recognition skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
Minimum Requirements Candidates must meet one of the following:
3+ years of construction safety management experience and a Bachelors degree in Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field; or 5+ years of construction safety management experience and a professional certification (CSP, ASP, CHST, CIH, or equivalent); or 6+ years of construction safety management experience and current OSHA 500 certification. All candidates must possess a current OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification
Physical & Work Requirements This position requires a daily field presence on active construction sites, including walking, climbing, working at heights, and exposure to varying weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and work flexible hours, including overtime, as project needs dictate.
