The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Construction & Safety Manager for a prominent client of ours. This position is in San Jose, CA 95134.Details of the position are as follows: 
 
Job Description:
  • Pay: UP TO $88.76/hr to start based on experience!
  • 7-month assignment with the possibility for extension or conversion based on performance and budget.
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, Day Shift Hours
  • Support a $25M capital project involving facility retrofits, clean room installations, and equipment installations for semiconductor R&D operations.
  • Oversee construction sites, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Lead site safety initiatives, including incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and near-miss reporting.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation plans to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Manage day-to-day construction activities and contractor performance to ensure project schedules are met.
  • Ensure all work complies with project specifications, building codes, and owner standards.
  • Review construction schedules, project costs, and progress reports in coordination with project management.
  • Support permitting efforts, inspections, contractor onboarding, and project coordination activities.
  • Conduct quality inspections and provide construction progress and safety KPI reporting.
 
Qualifications:
  • Required:
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
    • 8-10+ years of Construction Management experience, preferably within California.
    • Experience with commercial building construction, clean room construction, and installation of chemical production processes.
    • Strong construction safety background, including accident investigations, incident reporting, and root cause analysis.
    • Experience conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation plans.
    • Experience interpreting ASME, ACI, Building Construction, and Owner Standards and Procedures.
    • OSHA 30 Certification.
    • First Aid and CPR Certification.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferred:
    • Previous experience supporting semiconductor, clean room, or advanced manufacturing construction projects.
