Construction Safety Technician

Job Summary

Join our team in Celebration, Florida, a vibrant community known for its charming atmosphere and proximity to major attractions. As a key technical safety resource, you will be responsible for ensuring safety across all construction projects, focusing on guest and cast safety, regulatory compliance, and hazard analysis throughout various project phases.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction safety efforts from feasibility through project completion in collaboration with internal clients and external vendors/contractors.
• Participate in inspections, field reviews/audits, and acceptance testing.
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of FED and CAL OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
• Review contractor safety plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and work permits.
• Ensure contractors meet pre-qualification safety requirements.
• Monitor contractor compliance with safety regulations and site requirements.
• Facilitate and/or participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and pre-job briefings.
• Maintain a frequent field presence across all projects.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 6 years of experience in General Construction, Construction Safety, Industrial Safety and Health, Safety Engineering, or similar fields.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and codes.
• Proven experience in project design review, including an understanding of the "Safety by Design" concept.
• Knowledge of relevant regulatory and industry standards, with the ability to quickly learn internal company standards and business practices.
• Self-driven and resourceful professional with problem-solving skills beyond the area of expertise.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and diffuse difficult situations.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 30 (Construction) or higher certification.
• CHST, CSP, or equivalent safety certification.
• Experience in the safety of multi-trade construction activities and construction safety industry/regulatory standards.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in General Construction, Construction Project Management, Construction Safety, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related fields.

Preferred Education

• Advanced degree or 10 years of experience in General Construction, Construction Project Management, Construction Safety, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related fields.

Additional Details

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM (Onsite, full-time)

Additional Requirement:
Supplier must provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) for the candidate at the time of offer, as they will be required to use their personal vehicle onsite

Interview Process: 2 rounds

• Round 1: Initial interview with hiring manager
• Round 2: Panel interview with the team
