Role Description The Construction Scheduler – Rail Road is a contract, on-site role based in Seattle, WA. This position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating detailed construction schedules for railroad projects, ensuring alignment with project milestones, field conditions, and stakeholder requirements. The role involves coordinating closely with project managers, site supervisors, engineers, and contractors to gather progress data, validate timelines, and adjust schedules to reflect actual performance. Day-to-day tasks include preparing look-ahead schedules, tracking critical paths, identifying risks, and recommending mitigation strategies to keep projects on time and within scope. The Construction Scheduler also prepares reports and schedule analyses, supports progress meetings, and ensures that scheduling data is accurately documented and communicated to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in construction scheduling for rail or heavy civil infrastructure projects, including creation and maintenance of detailed project timelines.
\n
Proficiency with scheduling software and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar) and strong skills in Excel and general project documentation.
\n
Knowledge of railroad construction processes, field operations, safety standards, and sequencing of work activities.
\n
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify schedule risks, evaluate alternatives, and recommend practical solutions.
\n
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders on-site.
\n
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, contracts, and technical specifications to inform realistic scheduling.
\n
Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic field environment.
\n
Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
\n
Experience with reporting tools and dashboards to present schedule status and progress in a clear, accessible format.
\n
Understanding of change management and claims analysis related to schedule impacts is beneficial.

PMP is preferred.
