Mortenson is currently seeking a Construction Senior Electrical Engineer - Solar that will provide electrical technical support throughout the entire construction project.Location: Must be open to any location in the continental United States.Travel: This is a 100% travel position; locations may vary based on the project. Mortenson hires for a career and not a project. When your project is complete you will be assigned to another project.RESPONSIBILITIESProvide technical lead and support for electrical portions of work projectsDetermine best layout of collection systems considering constraints (overhead/underground, roads/cross country, junction box locations)Review manufacturer's data for electrical scope (wiring requirements, electrical characteristics, grounding, power factor, lightning protection, generator outputs)Verify construction aligns with electrical engineering design drawings, including preparatory meetings and QA/QCLead electrical engineering design and equipment procurement through submittals, transmittals, and RFIsProvide technical expertise to all parties involvedEnsure subcontractors understand project scope during bidding and provide electrical engineering support throughout the projectCommunicate with local utilities for grid interconnectionPerform loss calculations (100% output/annualized)Develop one-line diagrams of collection systems and substations, and standard electrical construction detailsMaintain relationships with site visitors (customers, architects, union representatives, subcontractors)Run site work and logistics efficiently, offering improvement suggestionsBuild relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsLead by example, provide effective coaching and feedback, and manage performanceQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringMinimum three years in electrical construction management or electrical designCurrent driver's licenseBasic understanding of construction law and business practicesWorking knowledge of NEC code and NE safety code a plusBasic understanding of construction techniques and project management practicesIntermediate skills in Microsoft Office, project, and web applicationsActive listening skills and effective communicationAbility to travel up to 100%Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and Affirmative Action plansA few benefits offered include:(for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25+ hours / week)Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverageDental plan401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson matchPaid time off, holidays, and other paid leavesEmployer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insuranceNo-Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work-life resourcesTuition reimbursementAdoption AssistanceGym Membership Discount ProgramThe base pay range for this role is $102,000 - $137,700 (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
