Construction Site Superintendent Custom Residential Projects

Compensation: $30 $40/hour, with potential for increase based on performance
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations for custom residential construction and remodeling projects in the Olympia, WA area.
The ideal candidate will have strong residential construction experience and the ability to effectively coordinate subcontractors, manage jobsite activities, monitor schedules, maintain quality standards, and ensure projects progress safely and efficiently.
This is a hands-on field leadership position suited for someone with experience as a Superintendent, Foreman, Lead Carpenter, or similar construction leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
Jobsite & Field Leadership
- Oversee daily construction activities and jobsite operations.
- Coordinate construction sequencing and ensure work progresses according to project schedules.
- Ensure jobsites are clean, organized, safe, and properly prepared for upcoming trades.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential delays or issues early.
- Coordinate with project management and office teams regarding field priorities and project updates.
Subcontractor & Trade Coordination
- Coordinate subcontractor schedules, site access, and work readiness.
- Communicate project expectations, plans, and timelines clearly to subcontractors.
- Ensure subcontractor work is completed according to plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Address field issues promptly and professionally.
- Escalate subcontractor performance concerns when necessary.
Quality Control
- Conduct regular inspections of ongoing construction work.
- Ensure workmanship meets required quality and craftsmanship standards.
- Identify and resolve quality issues before they result in rework or larger project delays.
- Review custom construction details for accuracy and proper execution.
- Support punch-list completion and minimize rework.
Materials & Jobsite Readiness
- Confirm required materials, fixtures, products, and selections are available before scheduled work begins.
- Coordinate material deliveries with the project team.
- Report missing, damaged, incorrect, or delayed materials.
- Maintain organized material staging areas.
- Protect client property, finished work, and materials onsite.
Documentation & Communication
- Provide regular project and jobsite updates to management.
- Document construction progress, field conditions, and issues as required.
- Maintain appropriate jobsite photos and records.
- Participate in project meetings and field coordination discussions.
- Communicate professionally with clients when interaction is required.
- Identify problems early and assist in developing practical solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in residential construction.
- Previous experience as a Construction Superintendent, Foreman, Lead Carpenter, or Field Supervisor.
- Ability to read and interpret:

- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, building systems, and trade coordination.
- Experience managing subcontractors, crews, schedules, and multiple jobsite priorities.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Safety-conscious and professional approach to jobsite management.
- Client-focused and comfortable working in and around occupied or client-owned homes.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel between local jobsites.
- Ability to provide verifiable employment history and professional references.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with custom homes or high-end residential remodeling.
- Hands-on carpentry experience.
- Experience coordinating multiple construction trades.
