This position is responsible for the project managing of home repairs for income eligible homeowners, veterans, and elders aging in place but may also include new construction, rehabilitation, and weatherization projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct hands-on construction tasks including, but not limited to, painting and landscaping, soffit/fascia and porch or deck repairs, accessibility ramps, install smoke detectors, etc.
  • Conduct minor home repairs that do not require subcontracting or permitting.
  • Maintain project related tools and materials.
  • Manage subcontractors.
  • Coordinate project schedules with Volunteer Coordinator.
  • Lead volunteers and facilitate a safe and positive experience for everyone on site.
  • Maintain site safety by adhering to Habitat construction safety policies, modeling best practices and guidelines, volunteer instruction and site monitoring.
  • Participate in planning and budgeting related to assigned area of responsibility.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in an office. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, tablets, filing cabinets, and fax machines. In addition, this role will entail the receipt, storage and transport of construction materials and tools in bulk.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate perform the following activities: standing; walking; working overtime and weekends as need; exposure to heat, wind, and rain; ladder climbing and general comfort on two story roofs; residential construction skills, driving large trucks and construction equipment; ability to lift 50 pounds or more.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time exempt position. The typical workweek is Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends.

Education, Experience and Attributes:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience in construction site management.
  • Clean driving record and ability to travel within Hillsborough County as needed.
  • Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
  • Neat and clean professional appearance.
