Overview:
You’ve been working with drywall/sheetrock, concrete, flooring, and tiles for years, and you’re looking for a job that gives you the freedom to do your best work.
How would you like to be our Construction Specialist?
Your Role
You’re an independent person who’s passionate about getting things done the right way.
As Construction Specialist:
- You’ll complete drywall/sheetrock, trim, tile, concrete, flooring, and general construction work. Sometimes with HVAC, plumbing, or electrical jobs, we have to cut into walls and ceilings. To make things easier for our customers, you’ll come after these kinds of jobs to get their homes looking good as new!
- You’ll take care of customers. When you go to each job, you’ll take the time to analyze the work order, you’ll follow a set schedule, you’ll listen to concerns the customer may have, and you’ll make sure they’re taken care of.
- You’ll keep record of any work completed. It’s important for us to have notes of every job we do so we can refer back to them if we ever need to, and so we know exactly how we’ve helped each customer!
- You’ll work with different departments to keep things streamlined. Communication is key! You’ll rely on other departments to get you the information you need before each job, and they’ll rely on you to make sure the customer’s home gets back to looking good when a repair/installation is completed.
Responsibilities:
Some Highlights of the Job
- Earn $60-80k a year!
- You won’t have someone micromanaging you! This is a very self-led job that gives you the freedom to do the things you’re good at without someone hovering over you.
- Morris-Jenkins has been voted Top Workplace USA year after year!

All About YOU
- You love the feeling of seeing a completed job. You’re proud of the work you do, and you should be! It’s taken years for you to hone your craft, and every job is a chance for you to show just how good you can do it. You swoop in to save the day, and when your work is done, it’s so clean it looks like you were never even there!
- You’re skilled at seamless and textured drywall and concrete work. You’re like a master at camouflage! Once you’re done with a job, no one can tell work was done because it’s just THAT clean looking. You match textures of walls and get things looking seamless.
- You prefer solo work. When you work by yourself, you feel like you have more room to breathe. No one likes the pressure of being watched while they work! You can be trusted to do a good job without having others around.
- You want the best for customers. In this field, people who call us for help are scared and stressed about something in their home. Sometimes, there will be miscommunications between customers and our electricians, and you’ll have to step in to make sure things are taken care of the right way.
- You believe in efficiency. If processes could be made simpler with less wasted material, time, and money, you’re gonna strive for that! But you don’t believe in taking shortcuts—you know it’s better to do things the right way, not the easy way.
The people at Morris-Jenkins are so happy here, they even voted us for the Charlotte Observer’s “Top Workplace” award year after year. We have HUGE company breakfasts, parties, contests, and more!
