Construction Superintendent | Federal Projects

We’re looking for an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead mid-to-large-scale federal construction projects. This position is the primary onsite point of contact for employees, subcontractors, and clients and plays a critical role in keeping projects safe, on schedule, and built right.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll own day-to-day field operations and keep the project moving from mobilization through completion.

• Direct and coordinate all onsite construction activities
• Lead field crews and subcontractors
• Develop and maintain project schedules
• Plan manpower, equipment, materials, trucks, and other project resources
• Work closely with the Project Manager on schedule changes, subcontractor issues, project requirements, and field challenges
• Coordinate multiple trades and construction activities
• Read and interpret blueprints, surveys, specifications, and contract documents
• Monitor productivity, workmanship, and project costs
• Review and verify crew time sheets
• Identify potential problems early and drive solutions
• Maintain strong communication with the client and subcontractors
• Ensure work meets project quality requirements
• Partner closely with the Contractor Quality Control Officer and Site Safety & Health Officer
• Maintain compliance with project safety requirements
• Build a field culture centered around safety, accountability, teamwork, communication, and quality

What You Bring

• 5+ years of construction experience
• Strong Superintendent experience on mid-to-large-scale construction projects
• Federal construction experience strongly preferred but not required
• USACE experience a huge PLUS
• Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, equipment, and field operations
• Hands-on experience supervising crews and subcontractors
• Ability to develop schedules and coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment
• Strong understanding of jobsite safety and quality requirements
• Ability to manage multiple scopes and priorities simultaneously
• Strong blueprint and specification reading skills
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work effectively with clients, subcontractors, project management, safety, and quality teams
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to recognize issues before they impact the project
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred, but extensive relevant field experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
