Ideal candidates may reside in Detroit, Dearborn, Royal Oak, Troy, Novi, Sterling Heights, Ann Arbor, Auburn Hills, or surrounding communities.Key ResponsibilitiesField Leadership & Project ExecutionManage day-to-day field operations from mobilization through project completion.Execute project plans while maintaining productivity, quality, safety, and schedule objectives.Lead all onsite construction activities and coordinate sequencing to ensure efficient project execution.Subcontractor & Trade Partner CoordinationDirect and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and craft labor to ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and schedule requirements.Maintain strong relationships with trade partners while holding all parties accountable for performance and quality standards.Planning & SchedulingEstablish daily and weekly field priorities.Develop and maintain look-ahead schedules to proactively identify and resolve potential conflicts.Collaborate closely with Project Managers to ensure alignment between field operations and overall project goals.Safety LeadershipChampion Clark's commitment to safety by enforcing company policies and industry best practices.Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and jobsite audits.Stop work when necessary to address unsafe conditions and protect employees, trade partners, and visitors.Quality Control & ComplianceMonitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.Identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions promptly.Maintain a high standard of craftsmanship and project execution.Documentation & ReportingMaintain accurate and timely project documentation, including daily reports, inspection records, material tracking logs, change notices, and field reports.Communicate project progress, challenges, and upcoming activities to project stakeholders.Material & Equipment ManagementCoordinate deliveries and verify materials meet project specifications.Ensure equipment and materials are properly stored, protected, and maintained on-site.Minimize delays through proactive planning and inventory management.Client & Stakeholder CommunicationParticipate in owner meetings, subcontractor meetings, and project coordination sessions.Build positive relationships with clients, consultants, architects, and project stakeholders.Represent Clark professionally while supporting the continued growth of our Detroit and Southeast Michigan operations.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.5+ years of commercial construction superintendent experience or equivalent field leadership experience.Proven ability to successfully manage multiple phases of construction projects in a fast-paced environment.Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, scheduling, site logistics, safety practices, and quality control processes.Experience coordinating multiple trades and maintaining project schedules.Experience with historic renovation, restoration, adaptive reuse, or preservation construction is strongly preferred.Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency with construction technology, project management software, and Microsoft Office applications.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.Why Join Clark?At Clark, we believe that great projects start with great people.
