Construction Field Superintendent
Location: El Paso, TX
Type: Contract / On-site
Compensation: Starting at $60 and up to $62 per hour
Schedule: 40+ hours/week | Monday–Friday /
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Field Superintendent to oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities. This individual will be responsible for managing daily field operations, supervising subcontractors and trade partners, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. The Superintendent will serve as the primary liaison between field personnel, project management, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
Work Environment
This position is based primarily on active construction job sites, with occasional office work. Standard hours may extend based on project demands, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all day-to-day construction field operations.
- Supervise subcontractors, trade crews, and field personnel to ensure work complies with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain construction schedules while proactively identifying and resolving project delays.
- Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies to maintain a safe work environment.
- Conduct daily site inspections to monitor project progress, workmanship, and compliance with plans and specifications.
- Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, subcontractors, and workforce resources to support project execution.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Maintain daily reports, site logs, progress updates, and project documentation.
- Partner with Project Managers to support budgeting, scheduling, change orders, and project planning.
- Resolve field issues, conflicts, and unforeseen construction challenges in a timely manner.
- Ensure quality control standards are achieved through inspections and testing.
- Communicate effectively with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
- Manage punch list completion and support project closeout activities.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or in a construction field leadership role.
- Experience supervising commercial, industrial, manufacturing, or large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, building systems, and applicable building codes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction specifications.
- OSHA 30 Certification (or ability to obtain).
- Demonstrated leadership, team management, and subcontractor coordination experience.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience using construction management and scheduling software such as Procore, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, or similar.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience supporting large-scale or complex commercial or industrial construction projects.
- First Aid / CPR Certification.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work on active construction sites in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, navigate uneven terrain, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent mobility throughout construction sites while performing inspections and coordinating field activities.
