Job Title: Construction Superintendent

Job Description

This role oversees a six-month flooring construction project at a federal facility in Kings Bay, GA. The Construction Superintendent leads day-to-day site operations, coordinates subcontractors, and ensures the project meets safety, quality, and schedule expectations in compliance with federal construction standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all on-site activities for a six-month flooring construction project at a federal facility in Kings Bay, GA.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors to ensure work progresses according to project plans, specifications, and schedule.
  • Monitor construction progress daily and address issues promptly to maintain quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Ensure all work complies with federal construction requirements, project documents, and applicable codes and regulations.
  • Implement and enforce site safety programs in alignment with OSHA and EM 385 standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, site walkthroughs, and toolbox talks to promote a safe work environment.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications to guide field activities and resolve conflicts.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to provide updates on schedule, milestones, and site conditions.
  • Maintain accurate site documentation, including daily reports, safety logs, and subcontractor records.
  • Support quality control efforts by verifying that installed work meets required standards and project specifications.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in construction supervision on active construction sites.
  • Demonstrated background in managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple trades.
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and regulations.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • EM 385 certification.
  • Federal construction experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills for managing field teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage schedules, documentation, and daily site activities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience overseeing flooring projects or interior finishes in a construction environment.
  • Experience working on projects within secure or sensitive federal facilities.
  • Familiarity with federal project documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with subcontractors and project stakeholders.

Work Environment

This position is based on-site at a federal facility in Kings Bay, GA for the duration of a six-month flooring construction project. The Construction Superintendent works primarily in an active construction environment, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions when moving between indoor and outdoor areas. The role requires regular presence in the field to monitor work, perform inspections, and interact with subcontractors. Standard construction safety practices and personal protective equipment apply. Working hours typically follow a full-time schedule aligned with project needs, with potential adjustments to support critical milestones and site activities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $43.26/hr.
