Brooklyn-Based General Contractor Superintendent
A Brooklyn-based General Contractor specializing in affordable housing renovations, rehabilitation, and occupied residential projects throughout New York City. The company works extensively with HPD and NYCHA, with a particular focus on interior renovations where residents remain in place throughout construction. Their field teams take a hands-on approach to construction, emphasizing safety, quality, communication, and minimizing disruption to residents while delivering projects successfully.
Job Description
As Superintendent, you will be responsible for the following:
- Supervise day-to-day field operations on affordable housing renovation projects
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, labor, deliveries, and site logistics
- Maintain project schedules and coordinate daily activities with the Project Manager
- Oversee interior renovations and rehabilitation work within occupied buildings
- Coordinate access to apartments and work areas around residents and building operations
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite
- Monitor workmanship and ensure construction meets plans, specifications, and quality standards
- Coordinate inspections and address field issues as they arise
- Communicate regularly with Project Managers regarding progress, manpower, materials, and schedule
- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, building management, residents, and project stakeholders
- Identify potential issues before they impact schedule, cost, or quality
- Assist with punch lists, closeout, and final project turnover

The Successful Applicant
- 5+ years of construction Superintendent experience
- Experience with interior renovations, residential rehabilitation, or affordable housing as
- NYCHA and/or HPD experience strongly preferred
- Experience with occupied rehabilitation / tenant-in-place construction is highly valued
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods
- Ability to effectively manage subcontractors and multiple trades
- Strong communication and field leadership skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- OSHA certifications are preferred
- NYC DOB experience is a plus
