Job Description

A leading commercial construction firm seeks an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee ground-up and renovation projects in the Newport News/Hampton Roads market. This individual will manage all field operations, coordinate subcontractors, maintain project schedules, ensure safety compliance, and deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate has successfully managed projects in the $10M-$15M range and possesses strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all field operations for construction projects.
• Coordinate subcontractors to ensure efficient workflow.
• Maintain and adhere to project schedules.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Deliver projects on time and within budget while maintaining high quality.
• Lead and manage projects valued between $10M-$15M.
• Manage multiple subcontractors and complex project schedules.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Essential Skills

• 8+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
• Proven experience leading projects valued between $10M-$15M.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction means and methods.
• Proficiency with construction management software and scheduling tools.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Valid driver"s license and ability to work on-site full-time.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with ground-up commercial, institutional, healthcare, education, or public-sector projects.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $140000.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
