The Site Safety and Health Officer oversees all environmental, health, and safety activities for a federal construction project, ensuring strict compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and other applicable regulations. The role focuses on construction safety, accident prevention, and environmental stewardship while supporting projects in the $3-8 million range. The SSHO promotes a strong safety culture, reduces workplace incidents, and ensures that all work meets regulatory, contractual, and project-specific safety requirements.

Work Environment
This role is based on an active federal construction site in Florida, primarily at a naval air station and neighboring installations. The Site Safety and Health Officer works predominantly in the field, spending about 90% of the time outdoors and in active work areas, with limited office time dedicated to orientations, daily paperwork, and safety plan reviews. The environment includes typical construction conditions such as varying weather, noise, and ongoing heavy equipment and trade activities. The position operates within a structured safety framework guided by EM 385-1-1, OSHA standards, NAVFAC requirements, and a Government-accepted Accident Prevention Plan. Appropriate construction-site attire and personal protective equipment are required at all times. The role offers the potential for long-term employment and future project opportunities throughout the Southeast region.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
