Construction Superintendent – Restaurant & Hospitality
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead the field execution of restaurant and hospitality construction projects.
The right individual knows how to drive an aggressive schedule, coordinate multiple trades, anticipate problems, and deliver a high-quality finished space ready for opening day.
YOU WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Lead day-to-day field operations from mobilization through completion and turnover.
- Manage restaurant build-outs, renovations, tenant improvements, and ground-up construction.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, equipment installers, and project teams.
- Drive project schedules, sequencing, inspections, and milestone completion.
- Coordinate front-of-house, back-of-house, kitchen equipment, MEP, and specialty installations.
- Review drawings, specifications, and field conditions for constructability and coordination.
- Identify and resolve field conflicts before they impact schedule or opening dates.
- Maintain high standards for safety, quality, cleanliness, and jobsite organization.
- Manage punch lists, inspections, closeout, and final turnover.
- Communicate project progress, risks, and required decisions clearly with Project Managers and leadership.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
Restaurant Construction Experience
- Proven Superintendent experience in restaurant, hospitality, retail, or similar commercial construction.
- Strong preference for experience with restaurant build-outs, renovations, tenant improvements, and/or ground-up projects.
- Understanding of both front-of-house and back-of-house restaurant construction.
- Experience coordinating kitchen equipment, specialty vendors, finishes, and MEP-intensive scopes.
Field & Technical Experience
- Strong scheduling, sequencing, subcontractor management, and quality-control skills.
- Ability to read and coordinate architectural, structural, MEP, and construction documents.
- Experience managing multiple trades in fast-paced construction environments.
- Ability to anticipate field challenges and solve problems before they affect project delivery.
- Strong understanding of inspections, punch lists, closeout, and turnover.
Leadership & Communication
- Strong organizational and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with Project Managers, clients, vendors, subcontractors, and inspectors.
- Able to maintain urgency and drive the schedule without sacrificing quality or safety.
