Construction Superintendent - Specialty Fencing Construction - Base Salary to 110k/year- Warren, MI
Our client is a growing specialty contractor providing commercial and industrial fencing solutions for municipalities, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, manufacturing facilities, government entities, and private-sector clients. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Construction Superintendent to join their team.
The Construction Superintendent will oversee the day-to-day field operations for commercial and industrial fencing projects, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements. Projects include commercial fencing, security fencing, gates, access control systems, guardrails, bollards, railings, miscellaneous fabricated products, and related site construction. This role serves as the primary field leader, supervising foremen, field crews, subcontractors, equipment, safety, quality, and productivity throughout project execution.
Responsibilities:
Conduct daily job site visits to monitor safety, quality, productivity, schedule compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Manage multiple active commercial and industrial construction projects simultaneously, coordinating field crews, subcontractors, equipment, materials, and resources.
Monitor labor productivity, equipment utilization, and production performance to support project profitability.
Supervise foremen, crew leaders, subcontractors, and field personnel throughout all phases of construction.
Coordinate manpower, equipment, rental resources, utility locates, material deliveries, and site readiness with Project Managers and Operations.
Review construction plans, specifications, contracts, work orders, schedules, and project documentation with field teams before daily production activities.
Communicate with customers, general contractors, inspectors, owners, and project stakeholders to resolve field issues and maintain project progress.
Verify installations comply with contract documents, project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and company quality standards.
Conduct punch list inspections and final project walkthroughs prior to owner acceptance and project closeout.
Report safety incidents, project delays, field issues, and construction challenges to Project Management and Operations leadership.
Oversee projects from mobilization through installation, punch list completion, and final closeout.
Maintain a daily presence on active commercial construction job sites.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience supervising commercial fencing, gates, guardrail, access control, site construction, or related commercial construction projects.
Experience supervising multiple field crews, foremen, subcontractors, and concurrent construction projects.
Experience with construction scheduling, labor tracking, resource planning, and field productivity management.
Knowledge of OSHA and MIOSHA regulations, Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), equipment inspections, and construction safety practices.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, contracts, and field documentation.
Experience managing construction equipment, tools, rental equipment, and field assets.
Experience using mobile field reporting systems, digital timekeeping software, construction scheduling software, electronic plans, and project documentation.
Experience using smartphone- and tablet-based construction field management applications.
Compensation:
Base salary in the 90k - 110k/year range
