Project Superintendent - Commercial Construction (Ground-Up)

Office Location: Tempe, AZ | Field Work

Field Coverage: Arizona (statewide), ability to travel a plus

A well-established general contractor specializing in hotels and commercial office projects specializing in hotels and commercial office projects, is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to their active builds across the state of Arizona, and neighboring areas.

These are ground-up commercial projects ranging from $10M-$30M and 25,000-150,000 sq. ft., including mid-rise structures up to 10 stories. You'll be responsible for full on-site construction execution - from site logistics and safety to sequencing trades, quality control, and communication with ownership and design partners.

We're looking for a hands-on superintendent - someone who is comfortable with a builder's level or transit, has a "tape-on-belt" approach, and brings a deep understanding of building trades and high-end commercial finishes.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Lead all on-site construction operations from mobilization through closeout
  • Maintain quality standards, trade sequencing, inspections, and punch lists
  • Coordinate material/equipment procurement and deliveries
  • Maintain documentation: daily reports, manpower logs, safety compliance, testing results
  • Drive collaboration with design partners and owners for timely issue resolution
  • Protect the schedule with 3-week look-ahead planning and proactive communication
Required Qualifications
  • 7-10 years as a Project Superintendent in hotel and/or commercial office ground-up construction
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all 16 CSI divisions
  • Strong experience coordinating site logistics, site safety, foundations, building envelope, MEPS, and elevators
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and vendors while maintaining schedule, budget, and safety compliance
  • Proficiency with daily reporting, quality control checks, and look-ahead schedules
  • Solid communication and client-facing skills - able to lead weekly OAC meetings
  • OSHA 30 (required)
  • Ability to read and interpret full plan sets (structural, architectural, civil, interior design, and MEP) and ensure trade compliance
Preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and MS Project
  • DOB Superintendent or Site Safety Management license (or willingness to obtain - company supported)
  • The ability to travel is a plus!
Must have a thorough knowledge, understanding, and mastery of ALL project plans, including but not limited to site work, civil & SOE, structural, architectural & interior design and MEPS, including plumbing riser diagrams & fixture placement plans & schedules, electrical feeder riser & feeder diagrams, lighting plans & light-fixture schedules & specifications and knowledge and experience with building codes as affected by local ordinances.
