JT4 develops and maintains realistic integrated test and training environments and prepares our nations war-fighting aircraft weapons systems and aircrews for todays missions and tomorrows global challenges.JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDUTIESWorking under general technical guidancea Construction Technician must have knowledge of skilled trades i.e. electrical structural carpentry and or plumbing assemblies with preference given to those with a higher skill level in heavy equipment and mechanics. The technician will be performing work such as installation maintenance repair troubleshooting modifying construction and testing.Employees will be responsible for performing the following functionsdutiesPerforms electrical HVAC and or carpentry work in the construction maintenance repair remodeling and alteration of building structures and facilities according to work orders or verbal instructions by using hand and power tools to install and repair systems buildings and associated structuresExamine blueprints drawings layouts or other specifications to locate and diagnose troubleshoot faults issuesPractices preventative maintenance of tools and equipment by performing spot checks of equipment to determine their working condition oiling moving parts cleaning and servicing tools and equipment as directed or specified in the operators manual and returning damaged tools and equipment for repair or replacementAlways comply with codes and customer requirementsAssist instruct andor provide work directions to lower-level techniciansPerform other job-related duties as required.REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCEEducation andor training in electronics or other applicable fields from an accredited college technical school or equivalent military and three years of hands-on experience are required for this position.In addition an Installation Technicianmust possess the following qualificationsCertified electricians license helpfulComprehensive knowledge in building electrical tradesWorking knowledge of a second trade either through on the job training or continuing educationPossess a working knowledge of technical terminology and language structure related to a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment systems supported by the work unitMust have basic computer operating skills and knowledge of applications software and database usage sufficient to maintain records and filesMust have good verbal & written communication skillsRequired to qualify for and maintain government security clearanceMust have a valid current state-issued drivers license CDL preferredBENEFITSMedical Dental Vision InsuranceBenefits Active on Day 1Life InsuranceHealth Savings AccountsFSAsDisability InsurancePaid Time Off401k Plan Options with Employer MatchJT4 will match 50 up to an 8 contribution100 Immediate VestingTuition ReimbursementOTHER RESPONSIBILITIESEach employee must read understand and implement the general and specific operational safety quality and environmental requirements of all plans procedures and policies pertaining to their job.WORKING CONDITIONSEmployees will be required to work some overtime drive to remote locations long drive times on paved and dirt roads and occasional work overnight assignments.Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor duties may be performed on even or uneven surfaces which may be dry or wet. Grease or oil may be found on working surfaces. Outdoor duties may be performed in extreme weather conditions hot and cold. Climbing stairs ladders towers must be comfortable working at heights and scaffolds and the ability to regularly lift 50 lbs. anything heavierrequires two or morepeople or mechanical assistanceare required.
