This role provides the opportunity to work directly with contractors, clients, and engineering partners, gaining real world experience while contributing to high impact projects that serve communities across the state.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the on-site representative for construction projects
  • Document daily field activities and perform construction inspection
  • Coordinate with contractors, owners, engineering teams, and community stakeholders
  • Assist with construction contract administration and pay applications
  • Support RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
  • Track quantities and perform basic field calculations
  • Identify field issues and help develop effective solutions
  • Attend project meetings and communicate updates to supervisors
  • Support additional construction-related project needs as assigned

What You Bring

Typical backgrounds may include:

  • A.S. or B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Field construction or inspection experience (internships, co-ops, or full-time)
  • Familiarity with roadway, utility, or municipal infrastructure construction
  • Ability to read plans and interpret specifications
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; exposure to MicroStation or CAD is a plus
  • A collaborative, problem-solving mindset and interest in technical growth
