The Construction Technician performs construction, repair, and renovation work to support the safety, functionality, and appearance of City facilities, parks, and other properties. It delivers a wide range of skilled trade services-including pest control, carpentry, painting, drywall, glass repair, pedestrian doors, overhead (garage) doors and gate repairs, general HVAC, lighting, plumbing, concrete work, equipment operation, and other minor construction tasks-while providing technical troubleshooting and best-practice repair solutions. This role contributes to efficient facility operations by addressing maintenance needs and supporting construction projects as directed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires the ability to lift up to 80 pounds with assistance. Subject to vision constantly; sitting, handling and fine dexterity frequently; standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, hearing, talking and foot controls occasionally; kneeling, crouching, crawling, bending, twisting, climbing and balancing rarely.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Working conditions involves exposure to variable and/or extreme weather conditions, electrical currents, machinery with moving parts, hazardous chemicals/materials, infectious diseases, cuts, burns, or other physical harm. Utilizes personal protective equipment as required.
