Construction Transactions & Litigation Associate Attorney (Midlevel)
Direct Counsel is seeking a Construction Transactions & Litigation Associate to join a highly respected Am Law 100 firm. This opportunity is available in Seattle, Portland, or Anchorage and offers the chance to work on sophisticated construction and design matters for a diverse client base across both transactional and litigation matters.

This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys a mix of front-end construction contracting and back-end dispute resolution work, and who is looking to take on meaningful responsibility within a collaborative and nationally recognized real estate and construction practice.
Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction and design agreements
  • Advise clients on contract strategy, risk allocation, and project-related issues
  • Support and manage construction-related disputes, claims, and litigation matters
  • Work with commercial and public construction projects across a variety of industries
  • Handle agreements utilizing both custom and industry-standard forms, including AIA, AGC, and DBIA contracts
  • Collaborate closely with partners and clients on ongoing project and dispute matters
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience handling construction and design contracts and related litigation matters
  • Experience gained at a mid-size or large law firm or within an in-house legal department
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with AIA, AGC, and DBIA contract forms
  • Experience supporting or handling construction claims, disputes, or litigation
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple matters effectively
  • Active bar admission and residency in the state of the office location where based
