Our client is a reputable construction company specializing in commercial projects. They are seeking a Traveling Project Superintendent to supervise day-to-day field construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and with superior quality. This role involves traveling to job sites within an 8-hour radius of Pittsburgh and staying onsite for 1-3 weeks at a time while overseeing commercial projects
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision: Oversee day-to-day field construction activities, ensuring work is completed on schedule -and within budget.
- Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a constantly safe, clean, and orderly work site.
- Compliance: Ensure all aspects of the project comply with all contractual terms and obtain all required inspections.
- Documentation: Document project progress daily.
- Leadership: Provide leadership and establish/maintain good working relationships with customers and subcontractors.
- Teamwork: Promote teamwork and positive morale among the crew.
- Policy Enforcement: Enforce company policies consistently
Requirements:
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient use of email and other basic computer programs.
- Self-Motivation: Be self-motivated, resourceful, and capable of keeping the project on schedule.
- Travel: Willingness to travel out of state for 1-3 weeks at a time (company-paid expenses).
- Education: Possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Licensing: Possess a current driver"s license (subject to verification).
- Equipment Operation: Ability to operate a forklift.
- Budget Understanding: Understanding of project budgets.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial construction.
