Daily duties and responsibilities include ensuring that new infrastructure products are implemented in accordance with agency requirements and industry best practices. This involves network security, including proper configuration measures prior to device deployment as well as retroactively on production systems in accordance with MARS-E standards. Reviewing configurations on existing network infrastructure, troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure issues with guidance on resolving end-user issues, and knowledge transfer to existing staff are also part of the role. Additionally, network infrastructure documentation, assisting with daily operations on infrastructure management, leading migration efforts of on-premise infrastructure to AWS/Aure Cloud, and configuring and maintaining network firewalls and transit gateways in AWS are required.
Required skills (ranked in order of importance) include experience designing and maintaining network infrastructure in AWS/Azure, experience with IP address management, experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining cloud VM series Palo Alto firewalls in AWS, 5-7 years network experience, Cisco routers/switches, Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancing/firewall, and Meraki wireless access points. Preferred skills (ranked in order of importance) include Prisma Cloud, Infoblox DNS/DHCP, Forescout, Client VMware vSphere, VMware NSX, Cisco Umbrella.
Required education is a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Required certifications are CCNA or CCNP.
