Overview

We are seeking an experienced Risk Consulting Software Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on developing, enhancing, and supporting custom analytics and technology solutions. This role combines full-stack software development, cloud technologies, data management, and technical consulting to deliver high-quality solutions that support business and client needs.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with the MERN stack, AWS, and SQL databases, along with a passion for solving complex technical challenges in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain full-stack applications using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js)
• Build and optimize SQL databases, including complex queries and database design
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to develop project plans and deliver solutions aligned with business objectives
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues to ensure system performance and reliability
• Provide technical support to internal teams and clients, including escalated issue resolution
• Analyze support trends and recommend system enhancements and process improvements
• Serve as a technical resource and mentor for developers and analysts
• Manage source code using Git, including branching, merging, and pull request workflows
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications in AWS environments
• Utilize cloud services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS
• Follow software development best practices related to testing, documentation, security, and code quality
• Support data migration and integration initiatives
• Stay current on emerging technologies and development trends to drive innovation and efficiency

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
• 6-10 years of professional full-stack development experience
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • MongoDB
  • Express.js
  • React.js
  • Node.js
• Strong SQL database skills, including database design and complex query development
• Experience with AWS cloud platforms and deployment best practices
• Experience using Git version control systems and collaborative development workflows
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong documentation and technical communication skills
• Deep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices, including testing, debugging, and application support

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data migration projects
• Insurance, claims, or risk management industry experience
• Experience with custom analytics platforms and reporting solutions
• Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks and modern front-end development practices
• Experience with Docker and containerization technologies
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
• Knowledge of TypeScript
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency and software delivery
