Job Description

The team is responsible for protecting the integrity, safety, and trust of the Visa payment ecosystem. The team monitors and enforces risk and compliance programs that identify, investigate, and remediate behaviors that threaten the stability of the network, Visa clients, and end users.

These programs span multiple risk domains, including acquirer and issuer monitoring, fraud and risk compliance, integrity programs, and network risk investigations, and include programs such as Rules Compliance, VAMP, VIMP, FRECOP, VIRP, and related ecosystem risk frameworks. Collectively, these programs ensure that ecosystem participants operate in alignment with Visa Rules, program requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.

 

Role Overview

 

This individual contributor Consultant role supports Visa’s compliance enforcement function by providing inline process quality control across ecosystem risk and compliance activities. The role is responsible for reviewing enforcement work products, process execution, case documentation, decision rationale, and control adherence in real time to help ensure compliance matters are handled consistently, accurately, and in alignment with Visa Rules, program requirements, operating procedures, and governance expectations.

The Consultant independently evaluates the quality and completeness of compliance enforcement processes, identifies gaps, inconsistencies, control weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement, and provides actionable feedback to strengthen operational discipline, reduce execution risk, and improve the consistency of enforcement outcomes. The role supports root-cause analysis, quality trend reporting, issue tracking, and remediation follow-through to ensure process deficiencies are addressed in a timely and sustainable manner.

Working with Case Investigation and Enforcement teams, the Consultant promotes consistent application of enforcement standards and serves as a process-quality subject matter expert. The position helps define and maintain quality review criteria, supports calibration across reviewers and program teams, develops reporting to measure quality performance, and contributes to the continuous enhancement of enforcement procedures, controls, templates, and operating practices.

The role operates with limited supervision, manages multiple concurrent quality reviews and process-improvement activities, communicates findings clearly and constructively, influences adoption of quality standards, and may provide guidance, calibration support, and quality coaching to less experienced team members.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inline quality control reviews of compliance enforcement cases, work products, process steps, documentation, and decision rationale to assess completeness, accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established procedures.
• Evaluate compliance enforcement execution against Visa Rules, program requirements, standard operating procedures, quality standards, approval requirements, escalation criteria, and governance expectations.
• Identify process gaps, control weaknesses, inconsistent application of standards, documentation deficiencies, and potential operational risks, and provide timely, actionable feedback to case owners and program stakeholders.
• Track quality findings, remediation actions, recurring themes, and root causes to support trend analysis, performance reporting, process remediation, and management oversight.
• Develop and maintain quality review criteria, checklists, sampling approaches, review templates, and related process documentation to support consistent and scalable quality control practices.
• Partner with enforcement teams to support quality calibration, align on review expectations, validate remediation progress, and reinforce consistent interpretation of compliance enforcement procedures.
• Prepare clear summaries of quality review results, key risks, process trends, and recommended corrective actions for management, program owners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to enforcement workflows, controls, templates, reporting, training materials, and operating procedures.
• Manage multiple concurrent quality reviews and process-control activities while meeting review timelines, maintaining independence, and balancing business needs with risk and compliance expectations.
• Provide constructive coaching, guidance, and subject matter expertise to support consistent, high-quality execution of compliance enforcement activities across teams and regions.

This role is a Hybrid position to be located in our Atlanta, GA office location with expectations of being in office 3 days per week. Expectations of days in office will be aligned with the hiring manager.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
• Experience reviewing operational processes, case documentation, control execution, audit evidence, quality samples, or compliance work products for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
• Strong understanding of compliance, risk, audit, quality control, process governance, issue management, and control environments.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, assess root causes, evaluate process risk, and develop practical recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain objectivity, communicate findings constructively, and influence remediation in ambiguous or evolving situations.
• Experience working cross-functionally, managing multiple priorities, and engaging stakeholders across a global organization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize quality findings, control issues, and process recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and business reporting or productivity tools used to track, analyze, and present quality and process performance information.
• Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment.
• Fluency in English required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA,  JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
• 5+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, quality assurance, audit, internal controls, process governance, operations, payments, financial services, consulting, or a related analytical field.
• Experience in payments, card networks, financial services compliance, Visa Rules, enforcement operations, regulatory programs, or ecosystem risk programs.
• Experience designing or executing quality assurance, quality control, control testing, audit, compliance monitoring, or process review frameworks.
• Proven ability to develop review criteria, quality scorecards, process checklists, sampling methods, issue logs, and management reporting that support consistent operational execution.
• Strong ability to influence stakeholders, provide constructive feedback, and build credibility with operational teams while maintaining independence and quality-control discipline.
• Advanced research, analytical, and data-driven problem-solving capabilities, including experience working with case management, workflow, dashboard, or reporting tools.
• Demonstrated ability to translate recurring quality findings into process improvements, training opportunities, control enhancements, and sustainable remediation actions.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current on industry, regulatory, operational risk, and quality management trends.
• Additional language capabilities are a plus.

Information for US Applicants

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $114,400.00 to $ 183,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
