    CONSULTATIVE HIGH SCHOOL SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER (3 positions)

    Terms of Employment: 10-month, Full-time Employee

    Reports to: School Principal

    Salary: Current Approved Odyssey Charter School CBA Salary Scale

Our manageable caseloads allow educators to build meaningful relationships with students. Teachers are provided with a dedicated IEP writing block, ensuring time for high-quality individualized planning. Through our small-group Success Labs, special education teachers have the opportunity to provide targeted academic and executive functioning support that helps students build confidence and achieve their postsecondary goals.     QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS DE

    • Must hold a valid Delaware License and Special Education Teacher Certification (K-12) in accordance with 14 Del. C. § 1531

    • Must demonstrate a firm knowledge of special education laws and requirements.

    • Successful completion of Praxis II examss

    • QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

    • Certification in ELA, Math, Science, or Social studies

    • Experience in a Middle school and or High School classroom

    • Experience in creating and implementing IEPs

    • Data collection experience

    • Experience in the implementation of research-based math and reading interventions

    • Experience in accommodating and modifying curriculum

    • JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Effectively support a caseload of students receiving special education services offering access to the general education curricula through adaptations outlined in the student's IEP.

    • Develop and support the implementation of an Individual Education Plans (IEP) based on state and federal regulations

    • Creates a safe and engaging classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of all students.

    • Collect and use data to monitor the progress of student's goals,

    • Collaborate with general education teachers to provide access to content standards and materials for a student receiving special education services,

    • Effectively plan, organize and implement instructional practices by collaborating with the general education,

    • Provide individualized and small group instruction using research-based best practices,

    • Provide equitable access for students with disabilities through instructional and behavioral supports,

    • Remain up to date with best practices for creating and implementing IEPs,

    • Maintain an open line of communication with families about student progress regularly,

    • Performs other duties as assigned,

    • Tuberculin Test

    • Mandatory Direct Deposit of paycheck
