Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Consulting Business Intelligence Developer, you are responsible for design, document, build, deploy, and support customized Business Intelligence solutions that provide end-user access to dashboards, analytics, and reports built on a data warehouse, data mart, or operational system. You will participate as a member of a project development team to specify functional and technical requirements, create comprehensive design and technical specifications, build and test developed solutions, and support ongoing system operations. You will be both technical and business-minded, work on both business-driven and technology-driven assignments, and approaches business solutions from data, process, and analytics-centric perspectives.

What will you do in this role:

  • Have a “Cloud first” mindset and guide the team to produce solutions that utilize the capabilities of Big Data in the Cloud. Also keeping up-to-date technically and incorporating new advances in Cloud capabilities.
  • Guiding/managing the design, building, test and maintaining BI Reporting Architecture, reports, dashboards, guided analytics, and other BI solutions utilizing various reporting products for various service lines and will be a SME over multiple service lines.
  • Monitoring the analyzing, re-writing, organizing, and/or migrating legacy reports to new BI reporting environment for various service lines.
  • Develop data warehouse process models, including sourcing, loading, transformation, and extraction.
  • Develop and implement data extraction procedures from other systems, such as administration, billing, or claims.
  • Helps to create an environment where the BI Engineers can collaborate with business representatives, client relationship managers and technical leads to analyze, define, and document functional and non-functional business requirements utilizing standard business analyst tool sets including use cases, prototypes, data dictionaries, entity relationship diagrams, source to target data mappings and business cases.
  • Leverage existing and evolving standards to achieve consistency in the products that BI provides and to speed development by adhering to a narrow technology footprint.
  • Monitors incidents and requests from users to ensure that needs are being met and incidents are being resolved. Guides to subject matter experts and technical resources to ensure that issues are properly researched and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Works with developers to ensure that all levels of data on a report have been analyzed, the root cause of issues has been found and/or questions on the data and the data lineage have been answered. 

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science or related degree) required, master’s degree preferred.

  • Equivalent work experience may substitute for a degree requirement.
  • Minimum 15+ years Information Technology and /or Business Intelligence experience including databases, reporting, analytical experience, and web application design.
  • 5+ years of solid Cloud experience in large-scale reporting solutions
  • Experience using GitHub/Git in an enterprise SDLC environment for source control, peer review, release management, documentation, and deployment coordination is required.
  • Experience with HCA systems preferred.

  • Experience leading projects and working with multiple departments/service lines is required.
  • Experience managing others, working with higher level Executives, and managing processes/projects is required.
  • Experience with Database platforms and BI Reporting Solutions such as Business Objects, Power BI, MicroStrategy, SSRS is required.
