    Description

Consulting Chef  — NU3S Market Café - 1099 Contractor Position

NU3S is looking for a consulting chef to help our new café hit the ground running — a menu that pulls people in, quality service, and food people crave.

The Spot: NU3S is on the corner of Farmers Blvd & Merrick Blvd in Queens, where you'll find a touchless car wash, express auto care center, and cozy Market Café all in one location, just a few miles from JFK Airport. It's a natural stop for customers waiting on their car, commuters, rideshare drivers, travelers, and neighborhood regulars looking for a comfortable place to relax with a coffee, grab a quick bite, or settle in to work, study, or spend some time.

    What You'll Do:

    • Review our current menu and identify what's working, what isn't, and where the gaps are
    • Refine and rebuild the menu to fit this specific location and the customers who pass through it
    • Design menu items for every kind of visit — a quick bite for someone waiting on their car, something worth staying for if they're working, studying, or relaxing, and options that travel well for delivery
    • Adapt recipes so they hold their quality and presentation through packaging, transport, and service — whether it's handed off at the counter or delivered
    • Recommend packaging that supports that consistency, especially for delivery and takeout
    • Lead onsite preparation, tastings, and implementation, training staff on new recipes and standards so quality stays consistent, shift after shift

    Who You Are:

    • A chef or culinary consultant with hands-on menu development experience
    • Experience with cafés or quick-service spots in this part of Queens, or similar NYC neighborhoods, is a big plus
    • Comfortable turning ideas into something that runs smoothly in a real kitchen
    • Preferably based within the local area, in or near NYC, with an understanding of the local market and customer base — out-of-area chefs are welcome to apply, but you'll need to be onsite for tastings, training, and rollout

The Engagement:• Project-based, around 40 hours a month to start — with room to grow from there.• Rate: DOE• 1099 Contractor Position
