Position Summary

The primary purpose of the position is to provide technical expertise for developing new and existing software products within Integration Services at HCA. This position requires a candidate who can analyze business requirements, perform design tasks, construct, test, and implement solutions with little supervision in a Lean/Agile Development environment. The candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter and must be committed to delivering high-quality solutions within agreed-upon timelines.

• Performing development using HCA standards and procedures, maintaining code and version control through Github.

• Manage projects through inception, development, testing, and implementation with the help of other assigned resources. Using various tools: Elixir, JavaScript/HTML framework or LiveView SPA, Postgres, Docker and deployment tools

• Completing Unit Testing and participating in Peer/Code Reviews of other developers work

• Providing advanced troubleshooting user support working with end users at all levels of the organization

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred

• 7+ years of experience in Information Technology required

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with personnel at all levels of the enterprise in a cooperative and effective manner

• A strong communicator who can explain complex technical concepts to leadership and designers

Technical Skills:

• Must have Elixir/Erlang proficiency

• HL7/Interoperability: Deep understanding of HL7 message segments (PID, OBX, MSH) and FHIR resources.

• Integrations Experience including Kafka, REST APIs and MLLP experience.

• Cloud Data: Experience with cloud-services including Cloud SQL, Object Storage, Compute, etc.

Professional Competencies:

• Consultative Approach: Ability to explain the "trade-off" between data security and data utility to non-technical stakeholders.

• Analytical Problem Solving: Capable of troubleshooting complex data quality issues that arise from masking logic.

• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with HIPAA, HITECH Act, 21st Century Cures Act, and HITRUST frameworks.
